Experimental Design Excercise 3:

Designing an Experiment to Examine optimal Enzyme Conditions

Your Task:  Using Data that you generate, show the optimal pH or salt conditions for the enzyme catalase.  You will be given lab time on the following days.

Read the Instructions Below.

Lab Time Section/Class
2/3 Fri 2/19 Periods 2/7
4/5 Fri 2/19 Periods 4/5
6/8 Thu 2/18 Periods 6/8

1.  This is the binding site of the enzyme Catalase (I refer to it as Hydrogen Peroxidase).  This shows the the site within the enzyme where the Oxygen is removed from H2O2 to make H20.  Read this information on the enzyme Catalase (All 4 Pages).  Catalase:PDB

2.  Click on your Section to start designing your lab.

3.  At the end of you lab time, you must present me with data and evidence showing the optimal conditions of the enzyme catalase.  I would like some form of graph.  This is now worth ten points.
